New Draft Mode in Inventory Transfer - iSeller Blog

New Draft Mode in Inventory Transfer

Greetings! This month, we’re releasing a number of major features across several aspects, from the frontend to backend features. In this post, I’m pleased to announce our latest enhancement related to inventory management, particularly the transfer process. In the previous version of iSeller Web Admin, when you transfer products to different outlets or sending back items to supplier, product quantities in your origin outlet will be automatically deducted. This might cause confusion when selling products because of sudden change of quantities. In addition, it might also introduce security issues such as when you are not aware whether the product has been actually started transferring or not.

We solved these issues by introducing a new feature that allows you to control whether the transfer flow should be started automatically. In the Add Transform form, you will notice a new option called Automatically start transfer which is enabled by default to maintain compatibility with existing process. Simply switch it off to put the transfer on ‘draft mode’, which means the transfer will not be started, thus your inventory will not be deducted. See the screenshot below for better understanding.

The new “draft” mode in Transfer is useful when the information in the transfer is not yet complete, and you need to save the transfer record to move on with other tasks. In draft mode, you can still edit the existing information such as the qty, and add new items to transfer. Once all is set, click the Start Transfer button to indicate the starting of the transfer.

As seen below, the product quantity will be deducted once you clicked on the Start Transfer button in Transfer Detail page. Also note that once the transfer has started, you can no longer edit the transfer details. This new workflow helped you control and manage your inventory in a much better and detailed way.

Product items will be added to inventory after you click on the Receive Items button as usual. We’ve also added a new info in the Transfer Timeline which show who started the transfer.

Additionally, we are introducing this feature to Transfer In as well in case you haven’t received the physical product to avoid difference when counting stock opname.
